You’ve been through something major—maybe you got sober, overcame anxiety, or made it through a hard AF chapter of life. And now you feel this pull. A deep desire to help others. To share your story. To inspire.
I LOVE this about you.
There is so much value in your experience. In your courage. In the steps you took to crawl through the dark and find your way back to the light.
Sharing that wisdom?
It’s powerful. It’s how we change the world.
And if you want to use your story not just to inspire, but to build a purpose-driven business—even better. Let’s go.
You don’t need a PhD to make an impact.
You need experience. You’ve walked through the fire. You’ve survived the breakdown.
You’ve transformed.
That alone makes your story medicine for someone else.
A wisdom leader is someone who’s been through something and has the heart to help others get through it too. Whether you want to become a speaker, coach, or course creator—or just share your truth on social media—you’re in the right place.
When I got sober in 2009, I was terrified of everything—especially the idea of being seen.
I used to dream of living on an island and helping people with fear… but I had a phobia of public speaking, freeways, flying, and even leaving the house.
Fast forward: I taught my first class on anxiety in my living room, surrounded by floor pillows and tea.
Today, I’ve taught thousands around the world.
How did I do it?
I started.
Before I felt ready.
You don’t need to wait for permission. You don’t need to be an expert. You just need to be a couple steps ahead of the person you want to help.
That’s it.
When I first taught about anxiety, a well-meaning friend told me I wasn’t qualified. That I should wait. That I wasn’t ready.
But I was already helping people.
One student never had another anxiety attack after one class. Another told me they finally felt hope again. I decided not to wait until someone gave me permission. I gave it to myself.
Yes, I started teaching about overcoming anxiety in my living room. Then I recorded the lessons into my first online course, Digital Anxiety Pill (check it out here). It's helped hundreds of people.
I'm certain that THEY are glad I didn't wait until I felt ready. The testimonials make this clear.
The fact that you feel called? That’s your qualification. That's how I looked at it.
I knew something that could help people so I started helping people.
You are already living someone else’s dream. You’re a few steps ahead on the path. And that’s all you need to get started.
For me, it started with fear. Fear almost killed me. I needed to solve the early sobriety anxiety puzzle to stay sober. And once I figured it out, I had to share it.
That’s how I became a speaker.
That’s how I created courses.
That’s how I built my business.
It started with one class. Then two. Then a course. Then a TEDx Talk.
The message evolved as I evolved. And it will for you too.
Here's my TEDx Talk, "The Secret That Almost Killed Me," in case you're interested.
It's about connecting the dots between childhood sexual abuse, anxiety disorders and alcohol addiction:
When you're lit up by purpose, the fear becomes background noise. Discomfort is part of the path.
So are haters.
So is self-doubt.
But you know what else is on the path?
Joy. Service. Impact. Expansion.
The people you're here to help are more important than your fear.
So write your talk. Share your message. Record your story now—even if it feels messy.
Especially if it feels messy.
The world doesn’t need perfection. It needs real. It needs you.
You’re not here by accident. You feel the call because there are people who need what you have. That's how I see it. That's what I choose to believe.
So start where you are.
Claim your message.
Build your confidence by stacking courage.
Say YES to the next couragoues step.
We don’t wait for someone to tap us on the shoulder. We anoint ourselves.
It's a great day to go inspire the sh*t out of some people!
