But what if I told you there’s a simple, effective AF technique that helps you go from full-blown rage or grief to calm in less than 90 seconds?

​Yep. I used to reserve this for VIP clients. But now? I’m handing it to you.

The "Double Check" Technique.

This is your new emotional freedom tool—and it’s so simple you might dismiss it. Don’t.

Here’s the 2-step method:

  • Notice where the emotion lives in your body (chest, throat, stomach?). Give it a size. Example: "It feels like a grapefruit in my chest."
  • Take a breath. Look around. Then close your eyes and check again—how big is it now?1. Notice where the emotion lives in your body (chest, throat, stomach?). Give it a size. Example: "It feels like a grapefruit in my chest."

That’s it. Do the double check.

Almost everyone I’ve ever guided through this says the same thing after: “It’s not that bad.”

Framework: From Panic to Peace

  • Step 1: Locate the area in your body with the most (biggest) sensations.
  • Step 2: Give it a size. 
  • Step 3: Open your eyes. Breathe.
  • Step 4: Close eyes. Double check. Size it again.

Result? The sensation shrinks. Or disappears.

Your brain learns: emotions are safe to feel. And you are safe in your body.

Why This Matters.

Most of us got sober to feel better—but feelings hit hard.

Alcohol dulled them.
Sobriety turns the volume up.
That’s not a bad thing.

But you need new tools. This is one of them.

Learning to befriend your sensations (instead of running from them) is how we stay sober, thrive, and build the bold lives we’re dreaming of. In fact, "Befriending the Sensations" is an entire lesson inside my course Liberated in Sober Skin. It's really been the most powerful thing for my students and I to experience.

When we change our relationship with what we feel inside from fear, avoidance or neglect into curiosity, acceptance and "friendliness," our entire world changes.
